Keeping you “In the Loop” on what we learned

 Thanks for your feedback!

It was delightful to partner with Appletree Markets to bring you a Fall Pop-Up Farmers Market and with our Councilor Mike Colle, and his team, to bring Harvest Fest to “The Loop” at Avenue and Old Orchard throughout September.

Your feedback will help us build a bigger and better market for next year!

Here are key highlights of what you told us:

  • 90% of you indicated The Loop to be a great location and easy to access (67%).
  • 95% of you indicated you would attend next year: 70% ‘very likely’ and 25% ‘likely’.
  • Asked what improvements you’d like to see next year, your clear consensus was focused on the need for more vendors, greater variety, more fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, an earlier start in the calendar year (as in Spring) and a longer season (extending into October).
  • Asked what amenities and events you’d like to see the Loop feature in the future you selected a great array of options – among them:
    • Farmers Market (topped the list at 91%)
    • Holiday Market (58%)
    • Artists Market (57%)
    • Seating (57%)
    • Flower Garden (47%)
    • Tables (35%)
    • Community Garden (32%)
    • Open Air Movie Night (20%)
    • Many creative ideas were offered in your comments provided.
  • You expressed abundant support for the Loop becoming a park with 86% in favor.
  • Many specific suggestions were offered which gives us a lot to work with as we pursue bringing more to life in 2022.

We have shared the high-level results of our survey with our Councilor, Mike Colle, to help support on-going efforts to work with the TTC to leverage this valuable space to our community’s better advantage.

And we are taking active steps to put in place arrangements to, next year, introduce the market earlier, extend the season and offer a much broader variety of vendors and what they have to offer. Stay tuned and again, thanks for your valuable input!
